We recently launched Heading Home, a coordinated effort to end family homelesness in Santa Clara County by 2025. This GivingTuesday we’re taking the opportunity to highlight the local organizations who work to serve families with children experiencing or at risk of homelessness in their day to day work.
There are roughly 600 families currently experiencing homelessness in Santa Clara County, and another 600 new families enter homelessness for the first time every year. From providing basic needs like food or diapers to creating interim housing for respite, the organizations listed below are working hard to help families in crisis.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. If you’re in the position to do so, please consider giving to these vital community organizations this #GivingTuesday.
