Please join the American Leadership Forum – Silicon Valley (ALF) Faith Leader Housing Group for a workshop to learn about facilitation techniques, neighborhood engagement strategy and goals, and content for their next community conversation. The workshop will be facilitated by ALF.

Food and drink provided. Registration required. Capacity limited.

The ALF Faith Leader Housing Group is led by Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, Charities Housing, Stone Church of Willow Glen and Urban Sanctuary, and supported by Destination: Home and the Housing Ready Communities initiative.

Community Meeting Date
The Group is planning their next community meeting on the evening of Thursday, August 1 to facilitate healthy dialogue on affordable housing and homelessness in South San Jose. The meeting will provide additional information about a proposed development, broadly follow the Housing Ready Communities framework, and provide a safe space for community members to share fears, concerns and questions about homelessness, new supportive housing and affordable housing throughout Santa Clara County.

  • Community Event: Thursday, August 1, 2019, 6-8 PM*

As a facilitator, you will help facilitate small-group discussion at individual tables at the meeting. More information about the community meeting can be found at http://blossom.housingready.org

Housing Ready Communities
The Housing Ready Communities initiative brings together faith leaders, neighbors, community groups, nonprofits, government and housing developers to take action and support approval of new supportive housing and lowest-income affordable housing throughout Santa Clara County.

*Facilitators may be asked to arrive early for the community event.

Monthly Meetings

Although meetings of specific importance will be added individually to the calendar, these monthly meetings may be of interest on an ongoing basis:

Housing, Land Use, Environment, and Transportation (HLUET) Committee – Typically meets at 10am on the third Thursday each month. As a regular agenda item, the County Office of Supportive Housing presents its monthly system data report at these meetings. For details, select HLUET Committee in the drop-down menu in the left sidebar on the County of Santa Clara website.

Housing and Community Development Commission – Typically meets at 5:45pm on the second Thursday of each month. For details, see the Commission calendar on the City of San Jose website.
