Unveiling Ceremony of the Bridge Housing Communities “Tiny Home” Prototype

As directed by the City Council, the Housing Department is working with community partners to implement Bridge Housing Communities in San José. With the approval of the City Council, Habitat for Humanity will develop the sites, and HomeFirst will operate the communities once developed.
The communities are intended to provide interim housing opportunities to unhoused adults in a safe, private, and secure environment. Through an array of onsite supportive services, community engagement, and direct contributions, residents will be empowered to build stability and self-sufficiency while bridging from homelessness to permanent housing.
The Housing Department has released a comprehensive memorandum on the Bridge Housing Communities to include sites, costs and program information. The City Council will take action on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

If you have questions, please email bridgehousingcommunities@sanjoseca.gov.
