Community Convening: Strategies for Talking About Housing So People will Listen
March 28 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am
Highly Recommended: An excellent learning opportunity for Housing Ready Communities Action Network participants and other concerned neighbors. The Piecing it Together playbook and the work of the Frameworks Institute is essential (and their report a true “must-read”) to helping us improve our messaging on development and support of new affordable housing and supportive housing.
The FrameWorks Institute, featured at Home for All’s March 2018 Convening, is returning to San Mateo County. They have published the results from their multi-year research projects in a guide that provides insight into what shapes opinions, attitudes, and policy preferences.
The guide (attached), Piecing It Together, A Playbook for Affordable Housing Advocates, recommends seven strategies to help us talk about housing so people will listen, think, and act. Though based in affordable housing, the playbook shifts the conversation to availability and informs Home for All’s work to support the range of housing needed in the County.
Speakers: Dr. Moira O’Neil and Dr. Mackenzie Price
