Join the Movement to Center Lived Experience

No one knows more about our homelessness crisis than the people who have experienced homelessness firsthand. The leadership of people with lived experience is essential for ensuring solutions to homelessness are effective and equitable. That is why Destination: Home is thrilled to announce the launch of our new National Lived Experience Leadership and Advocacy Board (NLEAB) and to share that recruitment is now open!

By elevating lived experience voices in national conversations and maintaining strong ties to local communities, the NLEAB will ensure that national decisions and solutions are accountable to the insights and priorities of lived experience leaders and the communities they represent. This 15-member board will help those most impacted by homelessness have a real voice and equal power in creating lasting change.

We’re seeking individuals who are at least 18 years old and are experiencing or have experienced homelessness and/or housing insecurity. This may include:

  • temporarily living with family or friends without having a rental agreement or owning housing property of your own or couch surfing,
  • living in a shelter, and/or
  • in a place not meant for living e.g, tent, shed, vehicle, etc.

We encourage people with diverse experiences to apply as the National LEAB values diverse lived experiences as an asset. Members will be compensated for their participation.

We hope you will join us in ensuring systems and solutions are representative of and driven by the very people they serve.
