Maureen Damrel has focused her career on lifting up and empowering underserved populations in her community. With more than 10 years of professional nonprofit experience, she has worked to help people on their path out of homelessness, connect families to supportive services, and supplement the public school system. Prior to joining Destination: Home, Maureen worked for six years with Downtown Streets Team as case manager, project manager, and director of Santa Clara County programming. Maureen is passionate about the need to strengthen community, and believes that building community partnerships is the key to developing effective solutions to address pressing social challenges at the local level.
Maureen holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from San Jose State University, is a graduate of Leadership San Jose, a Community Advocates Leadership Academy (CALA) participant, and an active community volunteer.
